when is the release of Midget's Forehead?
i paid a lot on kickstarter to unlock the h-scene backer tier, and i haven't heard any updates
you gonna be convicted for murder, cause i cant stop laughing
*insert another stupid gnome joke*
on another note, soem thing that might be nice to correct:
attacks on trees have a pretty high miss rate.
at some trees I stand literally in front of them and only like 6th strike is a hit.
secondly, in the crystal woods area, that big platform totally throws me of around the height where the upper row of crystal trees is, you jsut suddenly glitch through the platform. it keeps moving up further while you jsut fall down.
so I cant get up to wherever it goes up there.
if you jump or carry stuff while on the platform, you fall through even earlier.
that aside, rpetty grind heavy game so far :-)
got the best axe by sheer grindign (WITh the talisman equipped), but grinding like 6k+ to buy items in the east; I aint in the mood for it.
and the portal destinations are even more expensive than that.
oh and another thing:
very often when I like want to go jsut right for a while (or left, same issue), I hold my right arrow down and just press space when a jump is needed.
however I often come to stand in front of a wall, still pressing right and space does nothing.
it doesnt jump up so i could walk furhter.
so yeah, presing against a wall disables jumping apparently.
milder inconvenience.
yeah if walking into a "wall" and pressing jump it sort of doesnt jump - this bug has been there for like 3 months, never got my hands on fixing it lmao
Thanks!
Hey, thanks for trying out Feed the Beaver!
I agree, the current balance makes the game very grindy.
Originally, I wanted it to feel like a long adventure where the “grind” stayed interesting, but after some playtesting I changed my mind. I’ll probably remove at least half of the items (maybe more) and lower the prices for what’s left. The game will end up shorter, but I think it’ll be a lot more enjoyable.
Platform bug in Crystal Woods:
Thanks for pointing that out, I’ve added it to the top of my Trello priority list.
Tree attack miss rate:
That’s interesting... in theory, attacks should always land right in front of the gnome and hit any tree there. The problem might be certain trees having weird hitboxes (I haven’t tested them all yet). I’ll check into this, thanks for letting me know!
Portal prices:
Yep, they’re grindy too. I’ll be lowering those prices along with the other balance changes.
If you want immediate updates on development, consider joining the Discord. I’m still new to game development and to using Itch.io, so right now I mainly post patch notes and updates on Discord. Do you think I should also start posting smaller updates here on Itch.io? (I plan on moving to steam once the game has enough content for a trailer)
Thanks again for the feedback!
